At long last, the Snow Miser is making an appearance, and a surprise one at that. While we expected the colder air and gusty winds, only a half an inch of snow was in the forecast as late as yesterday.
Now, we're hoping the snow will stop after about three inches are on the ground.
While I usually don't mind snow all that much, this particular mini-storm is annoying for two reasons:
1. I didn't wear boots to work, but thin leather loafers, as we were not supposed to get any of that half inch in the original projection until evening.
2. I need to go to the grocery store after work. If I don't go tonight (snow, inadequate shoes and windchills in the single digits) I need to go tomorrow (ten degrees colder and still windy). Pea Pod is beginning to look like a good idea.
To put the cherry on top, one of the things I'm out of is hot chocolate, so it's not as if I can come home all wet and cold from slogging to the grocery store, put on sweats and sit in front of the fire sipping hot chocolate.
Argh. The food run is for supplies for some cook-ahead stuff for next weekend's Mardi Gras party. Although at the rate people are RSVP-ing, I may cancel it and just put on a more lavish dinner for the people who have already responded.
Feeling a bit grumpy at the moment. Can you tell?
