When last we left our intrepid new condo owner, the downstairs bathroom toilet ran due to the handle sticking, the upstairs toilet rocked her
Tim came tonight (in spite of the snow) as scheduled to wave a magic wrench and give 2nd Life to everything.
Fix number one was easy.
Fix number two...not so much. In technical terms, the pipe doohicky in the floor sat up too high for the toilet to actually sit over it and touch the ground, hence the rocking. Yay for the smell of hot cast iron as it was sawed to the correct level! The toilet tank was attached to the toilet bowl with a wish and a prayer; it is now securely bolted on and cannot escape. New seating completed the overhaul. Now it is truly a throne fit for a queen!
Fix number three presented problems only because an additional part was needed; the throne work had taken more time than expected, and the stores had just closed (did I mention almost five inches of snow? And a frozen layer of ice under that? And high winds?). The pretty, functional new tap is on, but not, um, functional yet. A short return trip Saturday should finish the job.
Pictures will follow once the work is done and the room cleaned and spiffed up a bit. This is the room I fondly refer to as the "not orange" bathroom. There will be a poll on the picture post on potential new paint color.
Any color but "not orange".
