The mainline for coffee is set up in the kitchen - feel free to plug yourself in. It's been a challenging week, and my body wants to shut down before it's quite over, so the stimulant is much needed.
Taxes were filed Saturday, and as of this morning, the state refund deposit is pending on my account. I'm keeping an even closer eye on my account than usual, as I was notified yesterday of some suspicious activity. My bank has been incredibly helpful (see the previous post), but it will take time to rectify.
The paint sample and upholstery fabric samples for the sewing room arrived the same day, along with the news JC Penney is slashing all prices at least 40% as of February 1st. The sleeper chair that is part of the sewing room plan jumped to full price two weeks ago after having been half price for months and months; it will be affordable again when the price reductions take effect. If I can make up my mind on colors, I may have a redecorated sewing room by summer!
Busy weekend ahead. Canasta tonight, with a special guest. My current year international student "buddy" is coming along. She is a Chinese accounting/international business major, and smart as a whip; I'm sure she will beat us all once she learns the game (note to self: be sure to be partnered with her).
Saturday was supposed to be a birthday party for soon-to-be two year old twins, but their family has been sick off and on for over two weeks, so the party has been canceled. Their mom and I, however, are taking advantage of the time to go for coffee. Hoping this bug leaves their family for good, soon.
Sunday friends are coming for lunch (I think) and cards. Exact plans are a bit fluid, but we are sure we are getting together.
Busy at work, so I need to get back to it.
