Christmas Eve eve

Not only is it the day before Christmas Eve, it's the first day of vacation AND canasta day. Can't get too much better.

I've already slept in (after getting up at 4:10 to use the facilities, and again around 6:40 for no good reason, checking e-mail and going back to bed), stripped the bed, put in a load of laundry, gone grocery shopping, switched the laundry to the dryer and put another load on to wash, put away the groceries, made lunch and enjoyed my warm barbecued shredded chicken sandwich with a juicy tangerine. Or two. They are really, really good and I only eat them around Christmas time.

Now it's time to put the coffee on (Aldi had these caramel wafer cookies - they don't have them often, and they are to DIE for, especially with coffee) and settle in for General Hospital. Still to do: take in the garden hose, make pasta salad, clean the kitchen, start the dishwasher then clean me up again for canasta.

It hasn't been as hectic as it sounds, truly. If I sound a bit giddy, well, yes, I am. Two full weeks to relax, get enough sleep and get to some projects. Maybe even get my writing mojo back.
