Last night, for the first time since I moved, I went straight home after work. No errands, no stopping off anywhere else, no detour to pick up something for dinner.
Straight home.
It felt wonderful. There was leftover Chinese in the fridge for dinner, and a quart of cookies & cream custard in the freezer (bought Sunday and forgotten about - can you believe it?).
The evening was spent doing the little things. Find the right tupperware to use for reheating dinner. Break up all the stryofoam packed around the small file cabinet pieces. Gather up all the garbage and take it downstairs in preparation for today's pick up. Measure the pantry and kitchen for shelf paper. Cut and install some of the shelf paper. Drop the silverware tray into a newly lined drawer. Fill the knife block. Move several large, empty boxes sitting in various spots on both floors to the basement for recycling break down.
Puttering. Wandering from task to task, no set list or agenda. More was accomplished than when I have a detailed plan. Just do the next thing, whatever that is at the moment. Eventually, everything will get done.
