Aren't weekends supposed to rejuvenate you for the work week ahead? I'm just plain tired. It's been a bit of a domino game around here, but not a fun one. Tomorrow the last of the the stuff at the old place is being moved out. In order to have boxes to pack up some of that stuff (not a lot, but strange odds and ends and all of the good stemware) I needed to unpack some of the boxes here.
So I unpacked a number of boxes of books and a couple of the larger kitchen boxes. The books have been (mostly) shelved, but the kitchen stuff...at least I finally went and bought some pretty blue shelf paper. Not that I've put it in yet, so the kitchen stuff from the empty boxes is mostly - on the dining room table.
Friday night I completely took apart and thoroughly cleaned the refrigerator (why yes, I've mostly been eating take out and fast food for the last ten days). I even have a few things in it (most notably the three bottles of wine I brought here from the other place today) but not enough to actually make a meal with.
I'm enjoying the process of unpacking, figuring out where to put stuff, weeding out things that can go to Goodwill. I'm in no real hurry, though I did get the urge to put some things up on the walls, on some of the myriad nails and hangers the old owners left. A pretty mirror in the entryway, a favorite picture in the living room (it lived in my bedroom at the old place) and a new old-looking clock in the living room. The hanger for the clock needs to be moved, as it is too high and too far left, but if I plan to paint in the spring, I don't really want to put more holes in the wall that I'll have to spackle before painting.
The big excitement for the weekend, of course, was the big win by the Brewers on Friday, and now, their big win today. I took the afternoon off tomorrow, not for the game, but for the final move; I'm hoping I can sit on the patio and enjoy our mid-seventies weather. Heaven knows by Wednesday I'll have to make sure the outside water is turned off and the patio furniture is secured for the winter, as it is changing from well above normal to below normal almost overnight.
Enough of the sleep-deprived babbling, and on to the sleep. Catch you next week.
