It's hard for other people to understand why I'm excited at sleeping in, when that "sleeping in" still has me getting out of bed just before six a.m. But hey, it beats rolling out at the usual 4:50.
Besides, a nap is written on today's calendar in ink.
Much to do before then, however. First up, a big grocery run. I've a plan for meals for at least the first part of the week and Friday's dinner, when my card-playing pals are coming over. Of course, the plan depends in part on unpacking the dry groceries that are still in a couple of boxes. Unpacking all of them means putting the rest of the shelf paper in the cabinets. Putting in the shelf paper means adjusting the cabinet shelf to a level I can actually reach. Dominoes, you see.
Last night the second floor got a cleaning, though I do still need to haul the vacuum up to do the actual floors. A second vacuum is on the "to be purchased" list, never fear. Today (pre-nap; the nap is the carrot in this scenario) I'll pick up and clean downstairs, or at least as much as I can considering one room is mostly full of moving boxes that will be there for a while. I'm hoping to empty out the boxes of miscellaneous stuff by the end of the month, to clear the way to putter around setting up the sewing room over the long Thanksgiving weekend.
Sometime (after the nap) a bit of outside work; time to take in the patio umbrella, shift and cover the table and chairs for the winter. Oh, and wind up and store the hose. And toss out the old owner's dead flowers. And roll up the indoor/outdoor carpet under the table.
Maybe I will go back to bed for an hour or so.
