Come in and have a seat. I'm drinking my free birthday month Starbucks latte, but there is good coffee in the pot and a selection of teas in the little wicker basket.
First week back to work after two weeks off, and it's been a doosey. I found out late yesterday I need to change some vacation plans, as an auditor who has been dragging her heels since early October "only" has available the day and a half I had planned to be gone to come in and finalize things. It's early enough to change things, but it will put a significant crimp in some other plans.
Best friend who moved out of state (BFWMOOS) is back in town this weekend for a family event. Our usual card group is meeting tonight; tomorrow morning she and I are meeting for breakfast to do Christmas and my birthday (on my actual birthday, no less). While we do talk frequently, no electronic media can replace actual face-to-face time.
I'd be hard pressed to say exactly what I did on those two weeks off, though some quilting was done, some entertaining, a lot of reading and many things that make me happy but might make other people go "huh?". Time off is nice, but it is a relief of sorts to get back into a routine.
This year I'm reading through the Bible again - the link to the plan I'm using is in the sidebar. It is a lot of work - three to five chapters a day - but the rewards are incredible. Trying to rearrange priorities in order to make this a priority has shown me a lot (and not all good) about where I really put my time. This is my fourth time through in the last six years, and I learn so much more each time.
