I'm melting, I'm melting!

I do tend to get all wicked-witch-of-the-west-ish when the heat and humidity return yet again, and the flat resembles a sauna more than a home.  SERIOUSLY sick of this.  Next weekend is supposed to be nice, but there will be a whole lot of hot air coming from the direction of the Summerfest grounds, as the president is coming to town AGAIN on Labor Day.  That will be the fourth time for him in Wisconsin since mid-June.

Desperate, much?

Since it is already so warm in here, I'm going to bake up the last of the chocolate chip cookies.  Those plus cheese and crackers will most likely be dinner - don't much feel like real cooking.

In spite of the heat, I've taken to keeping a lightweight cardigan in the bag of books and things I take with me to coffee shops, as I find that after half an hour or so sitting in the blessed cool, I am freezing.  The trick is remembering to take it off before getting in the hot car.  Even the Panera that is usually baby-bear ("just right") was chilly this morning.  It may be a conspiracy to entice people to buy more hot coffee and soups.  The idea of soup is so appealing right now...

...but enough weather-related whining.  Though, truthfully, I have little else newsworthy to report.  I finished one more of the four five books I had started, but not any of the three library books (and I just remembered one more hold came in - I think it may have been returned to inventory today.  Drat.)

Life seems just a tad confusing at the moment.  My brain doesn't work as well when it's hot, and I've got a mess of things swirling around about which decisions need to be made.  I start a list, but get sidetracked by something else that needs doing, and before you know it, my path rivals that of Jeffy's in some of those old Family Circus cartoons (if you are too young to "get" that reference, you're too young to be reading here).  The source for some upcoming purchases has at least been identified, but knowing my luck, things will be out of stock.

Eh.  For tonight, anyway, cookies and milk will make things better.
