Where does the day go?

Honestly, I have no idea.

The hair appointment - even with two processes and a trim - was over by 10 a.m.  Peter is really quick.  The end result?  Medium curls in an intentionally disheveled (as opposed to normally disheveled), longer 'do.  The perm gives me the volume my very straight, fine hair can never hold, as well as giving it enough omph to stay out of my eyes on its own.  If I remember to bring in the camera (left in the Bible bag, left in the trunk of the car (intentionally for overnight)) I'll try to post a picture soon.

But the day sort of disappeared from there.  A load of laundry was done, a short nap was taken; before I knew it it was almost four thirty and I still needed to go to Target, among other things.  Ever the procrastinator, I took myself to Starbucks to read for a while first.  I fear I'm becoming one of "those" people, the ones with the long, complex drink order.  Grande soy one pump hazelnut latte, extra hot.  Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

Target is surprisingly crowded at 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday night, the parking lot crammed with minivans.  Exactly where all those people were, I'm not sure; the areas of the store I wandered through were rather ghost-townish.  In spite of several things jumping into the cart of their own accord (a pair of earrings and a cute little cross-body purse) the damage wasn't bad.

Now it's way past bedtime.  It's not the nap that's kept me up, but a combination of bill-paying, budgeting and just enjoying the cooler weather, which is going back into hiding as of tomorrow.  According to my electric/gas bill, the average temperature this last month has been seven degrees above what it was last year.  It's obvious I'm spending more time out at coffeehouses and movies to stay cool, though, since my actual electric usage is down in spite of having all the fans running.

Sleep tight.
