put- put- puttering

This is the last weekend of the Fair, thus, my last weekend of parking congestion enforced houseboundedness.

Is too a word.

So, what have I done all weekend? Darned if I know. I seem to have the attention span of a fruit fly with unmedicated ADHD. Still, a few things have magically finished/partially finished themselves.

1. All small pieces of fabric hanging out in the office have been dealt with, mostly by cutting what I could into strips. A few larger pieces remain, destined for the stash bins that reside under my bed.

2. I've scanned into the computer a meal plan from a magazine (Yea! Less paper clutter!), prepared a grocery list based on the first week, and...did not go grocery shopping. Last Sunday I went shopping very, very early on Sunday morning, before even the birds were up, only to discover that at that hour, Pick 'n' Save does NOT have real checkout clerks on duty. I'm not sure I trust the scanners anymore, so I opted to stay home (the opportunity to sleep two more hours had absolutely no bearing on that decision, I assure you).

3. Living, dining and bedrooms are picked up, dusted and vacuumed.

4. Spent quite a bit of time rereading parts of Jinny Beyer's color theory book and playing with the fabric color palette I have.

5. Watched roughly 10 episodes of various tv shows on DVD - mostly while cutting fabric (there really was a lot of fabric).

6. Spent much time on and off the phone with a young friend who is making some pretty big decisions in a pretty narrow window of time...while I'm happy that she is happy, I'm not convinced this is the best thing. It did lend itself to one very humorous moment, though I'm not sure she realized how funny I found it. Have you ever heard anyone actually sputter? The whole, ba-ba-buh, spitting, gasping unable-to-talk sputter? It is especially amusing when you cannot see the person sputtering, but can clearly hear it. Priceless. And I still believe I was completely right in the comment I made that precipitated the sputtering.

7. Hung a small picture between the top of the desk and the bottom of the hutch. The hutch is mission-style and backless, and the space has been bare for a while.

8. Snuck out to Panera early, early Saturday morning, finding that my usual bagel-and-large-coffee has now gone up to $3.00 - an increase of 29% since Christmas.

9. Mailed a gift to a friend. She reads here, so I really can't say too much more...

10. Hmm. There's more, but for the life of me, I don't remember.

All in all, a satisfying weekend even if not much got done. The list of errands for this coming week is fairly long, with stops at the library, post office, JoAnn Fabrics, Borders and possibly Target in order. Tuesday night is the reading at the Muskego library; I'm still not sure I'll go. Lots to do at work, so I may continue going in much earlier than usual, as I did last week.
