But I'm up for trying again. According to an e-mail from the former secretary of the now disbanded quilt guild I belonged to three years ago, Jennifer Chiaverini is going to be at the Muskego Public Library. She writes the popular Elm Creek Quilters series of books, and happens to hail from Madison, Wisconsin. I've read most of the books, have a few and may even have a copy of the book of quilt patterns based on the novels...unless I got rid of it in the great quilt book purge of '06. Odds are I kept it, as "quilt books with ties to the area" was one of my criteria for keeping books.
Anyway. She is supposed to be at the library Tuesday, August 12th at 6:30 p.m., with the event open to the public. No indication of what the "event" is, but given that a new novel has been released recently, it is most likely a reading.
Unlike the last author reading I tried to attend, this one is not currently listed on the author's website. But also unlike the last one, there is only one location for the Muskego Public Library, so at least I won't be in the wrong place. Besides - again unlike the last time - all of the books at the library are free to read. Even without an author reading a trip to the library is fun.
