The West Allis cheese shoppe is reopening seven months after a fire gutted the place.
I'm not usually unduly sentimental about retail stores, but this little shop is at the corner of the block on which I grew up. My mom worked there for a while just for the fun of it, after she retired.
Oh - and the cheese is fantastic. It is wonderful to hear about business owners who are willing to give back to their customers by rebuilding in a mostly residential area, rather than just saying "oh well" and focusing on their other locations. I may have to make a stop next week, and stock up on the good cheese.
