Quarter to seven

It's been a lovely weekend all around, with a special treat still in store. In another fifteen minutes, the pans of pecan sticky rolls will go in the oven. You'll have to wait until Tuesday for a full report on those, however.

Friday we finally had a typical late spring day - warm, not too humid and sunny. A friend and I went to that Neighborhood place for dinner. More accurately, for a long catch up and gab fest that was occasionally punctuated by the delivery of food to our table. No need to refill the mango margarita; they brought the shaker up front.

Quick stop to get a decaf latte on the way home, from a barista who looks like Ryan Braun's little brother.

Sleep in Saturday, then putter around the house, cleaning a little, reading a little, working on the brioche dough. Gorgeous day on Sunday, off to church for a great service, then home to read, putter and putter some more.

A putter-y sort of weekend - just what I needed.

As gorgeous as today was, it's only going to get better later this week; can't wait to unpack the patio and take a trip to Target and the local garden center to start setting it up.

Now it's time for the season finale of Once Upon a Time, followed by a pecan roll tasting.

Really can't ask for more than that.
