Unseasonal

Our run of unseasonable weather continues, with a high today of forty-five degrees, with considerable sunshine. We have had almost zero snow, none that stuck for more than an hour or so. In other words, it was a perfect day to finally move the patio set, fold the indoor/outdoor run on top of it, cover the whole thing with a canvas cover, roll the garden hose up, put it in the storage closet and sweep up the remaining leaves.

My middle name is procrastination.

As is usual for a vacation spent at home, I've made a list. So far, it's preliminary, as I know I'm still worn out enough to have forgotten important things (tomorrow's doctor visit and the repairman call on Friday are not on the list).

At the moment, it doesn't seem as if there is a lot of stuff on the list that is just "fun", but then, I consider having time to unpack and organize the sewing room as fun. I do know there are two three people I want to have coffee or lunch with this week or next, as well as an antique store or two I'd like to visit.

I won't know until tomorrow whether or not I'll be able to do any of it, as I'm seeing the doctor for some achilles tendon issues...I'm fairly certain the prescription will be rest and ice, which I've been doing in a half-hearted, I-have-too-much-to-do fashion for the last few weeks.

Bummer: forced to sit in front of the fire with my feet up, reading for hours on end.

The larder is full, and soup will be on the simmer fairly soon (turkey broth and meat frozen after T-day). Hot chocolate mix is nestled in the coffee cupboard, and I may make cookies tomorrow. New books on the kindle, and enough reading material in general to keep me occupied if off my feet. Frankly, that's not a bad way to spend a vacation...I can save the list for another time.
