Wow, is it really the end of October? Grab a cup of something warm, pick one of the quilts stacked up over there to pull around yourself and have a seat.
Busy week. One set of card ladies came over last Friday; we had a blast. These are some of my dearest friends, and it was great to show them the condo. Tonight the Crazy Canasta Chicks are meeting...and I'm considering staying home. I've been running quite a bit this week, and among the things I've forgotten (see the previous post) is my coat. Since I exit through underground parking, it's easy to skip checking the weather and dressing appropriately. It isn't until I'm ready to get out of the car at work that I finally realize I've been an idiot. My body, however, has been happy to incubate the virus lurking in my sinuses.
More fun with people this weekend, as a group of people from church and some other friends are coming for lunch. In the "forgetful" vein, I forgot that I currently only have access to plates for eight; there are ten people total for lunch. Anyone have recommendations on where to go for cute, sturdy paper plates?
The advantage of having groups of people over in rapid succession is that the house stays fairly neat in between - no hurried all-house cleaning for company needed. Since I'm still technically in the process of unpacking, I don't stress about things not being "perfect", whatever that is. Plus, there are wonderful leftovers to take for lunch.
A business trip to New Orleans is coming up. In spite of having much less time in the city this year, I'd still like to get out a bit - hopefully, to the flea market, as that is the one place that is open early enough for me to take advantage of it the one morning I am free. If I work it right, it will be breakfast at Mother's, the flea market, then coffee and beignets at Cafe du Monde before heading back to the hotel for the conference.
Next weekend, I plan to do nothing. Absolutely nothing. All weekend.
