- Over the weekend I actually did some cooking; cheesy scalloped potatoes and a huge batch of beef barley soup. So what do I have for lunch today? A McDonald's salad. The potatoes were made Thursday and finished over the weekend, while the soup wasn't done slow cooking until just before I went to bed last night. Too lazy to scoop some out this morning.
- Today's high is supposed to be 87; tomorrow's 68. Yes, you read that right. Major cold front coming through, bringing the temps for the next week down just below the seasonal average. LOVING it.
- Speaking of cold, my winter coat needs relining. I've no time (and I abhor doing alterations and things of that sort - would rather sew from scratch), so I may be having it done by someone else. Note the "may"; depending on what it may cost, it may be less expensive to get a new coat. Sad, but true.
- Packing? Well, yeah. I've been reusing the packing paper, flexible styrofoam sheets and bubble wrap I've been hoarding for the last year, and it's worked well. If the 40-50 box estimate for my size flat is true, I'm halfway done with the boxing. Personally, I think whoever came up with the estimate either 1) only lived someplace a year before packing up, or 2) didn't live anywhere with a walk-in pantry.
- 9/11 - nothing to say that hasn't been said better elsewhere, or at another time.
- When I came home from church yesterday, I had a hard time finding a parking spot, as the church on the other corner changed back to their winter service schedule. In the middle of parallel parking into a tight spot (on the driver's side of the street, no less) I realized - I only have to deal with this for a few more Sundays!
- Why no, I've not set an actual moving date. Every time I think I have one, something else gets planned that takes away any possibility of my getting help from anyone I know. To tell the truth, I do sort of know when it will happen, but it will be Friday before I can go set it in stone.
- And no, I really, really don't want help packing, at least not unless it is two days before the movers come and I'm very far behind. I love you all for volunteering, but in order to maintain my sanity when unpacking, I need to be able to stick to my system.
