My poor head is so foggy and filled with details both professional and personal that I cannot for the life of me put out a real post. So, a quick status/brain lint dump for your reading pleasure:
Condo cleaning: Scheduled for Friday. Top to bottom professional clean, excluding the interior of the appliances (I like doing those). The biggest advantage to having pros do it is that I can follow them around and point out places that they may have missed/I want done a different way or better. Somehow, telling myself that when I clean often results in "oh, to heck with it" and settling in with a book for the afternoon.
Carpet cleaning: Scheduled for Monday. The carpet on the entire first floor is a very pretty cream color. At least in most places. Mr. Stanley and his Steemer will fix it up.
Moving van: Scheduled for Wednesday.
Transfer of internet service: Yeah, whatever. Remember, I get my internet with Time Warner Cable, but through a commercial billing to the university. Our internal transfer form states I should call TWC and make an appointment to have the service call, put that time/date on the transfer form with all the rest of the information and then send the form to the university unit that handles everything. Only when you call TWC, they are really confused, and won't schedule the appointment without having already received the transfer form (insert rimshot here). I'll spare you the rest of the details. If I'm offline for a while after next Friday, you'll know why.
Other stuff: I have Friday off as a summer day, along with taking next week as vacation. My hope is that there is at least some fun "vacating" to be had in the later part of the week. My favorite quilt shop (half an hour out of town) is going to be remodeling; they currently have all one yard plus cuts on sale for 50% off. I'd like to run out and buy a bunch of neutral colored wide backing fabric for the stash. But not Thursday, as I intend to spend all day sleeping after the move is done. Assuming 1. the bed is set up and 2. I can find the pillows and sheets. And #2 is optional.
It is turning cold - not just chilly, but downright cold - overnight, reaching only the high fifties through Saturday. The weekend will be dry, a good thing, too, as I need to sweep, dry out and store the indoor/outdoor rug that came with the patio furniture at the condo. I'll try to take a picture before I put everything away for the winter, but in addition to the patio furniture (table, four chairs with pads, umbrella and stand) the owners left the carpet under the table and three MASSIVE urn shaped planters. Come spring, it's going to be a very pretty place. Assuming I manage not to kill any flowers I plant.
Sunday I took a quick drive through the other side of the complex, and ran into a friend who lives a block over in one of the other developments. We saw a huge flight of geese practicing their moves, and she mentioned there is a pond not too far away. More places to explore.
I checked my bank account on line this morning, and under the listing showing the accounts I have with them and the balances, there is a new one: mortgages. A bit sobering to see that number sitting there.
