The great chocolate rush in Europe is often traced to July 7, 1550 (how, I have no idea, nor do I have any clue how fuzzy this "history is" - just go with the flow). As a result, various sources have been pushing for July 7th to become World Chocolate Day.
Like I said, my kind of holiday.
Had I known earlier, I'd be better prepared. As it is, I may need to raid the vending machine in order to properly toast the day, most likely with a Snickers (the choices in the machine aren't exactly stellar).
Late or not, it's fun to fantasize about a "chocolate day" menu. It should be heavy on the chocolate, obviously, but not too overwhelming. The challenge is coming up with main dishes. Chicken with a chocolate mole sauce? Nutella-filled crepes? Any other ideas?
