Venti, extra hot vanilla latte from Starbucks this morning. Needed the caffeine and sugar both. Somehow, I managed to take an hour and a half nap after work, sleep a full night and still wake up tired.
The roadwork near my house is suddenly speeding up; the concrete for half of the roadbed was poured yesterday. I'm sure the people in the apartment building across the way, whose underground parking leads only to that street, are rejoicing in the thought of renewed access. At the rate they are going, the street will be open by the end of the month.
A friend is in town for the next several weeks, and a group of us are getting together tonight with the excuse of playing cards. Like the Crazy Canasta Chicks, this is woman-code for laughing, snacking, catching up and laughing some more.
Summer hours begin next week, so I'll work longer four days a week and take one day off. Next week it's Monday; after that, it will be Fridays. The plan is to use those days to scout out condos. I'm open to opinions/advice from those who want to share or who have recently been house-hunting. So far, I like this place (at least on paper), though I think the dark galley kitchen may drive me crazy (but the patio is great). But I love the laminate floors in this place (better for the asthma) as well. The first place violates my "get out of the county" guideline, but in spite of the much higher taxes, may be worth it. As I said, opinons welcome; I'm just at the start of the process.
