Condo #2 last night, one that left me wondering if monkeys design these things. Strike that - monkeys have been shown to be fairly intelligent, and I don't want to insult them.
This place was gorgeous. The owner installed genuine oak hardwood floors throughout, choosing an installer who did things the right way (beautiful baseboards, excellent miters). In spite of being rather small, the feeling was open and light.
Except...the double folding doors in the kitchen, that should logically lead to a pantry, hide the mechanicals. The small pantry closet is outside the kitchen, next to the door to the garage.
That isn't the end of the world, as there is plenty of cupboard space. The real problem with this unit?
Both of the bathrooms are upstairs.
Not only are both upstairs, the bathroom off the master bedroom is only accessible via a walk-through closet, and is a bit like being in a cave.
As I told the realtor when she called today to get feedback (the owner now lives in Florida, the place has been vacant almost a year and the owner is coming to town this weekend to fix anything that needs it), the things wrong with the place aren't things the owner can change; they are design flaws.
Friday night I'm seeing a second unit in the same complex as the first one I looked at (the gorgeous patio). I've a call in to yet another agent about this place: let's call that Honey Tree. I may also want to see this place on Maple Leaf...I find it intriguing that the owner is willing to sell fully furnished, and kind of want to know the story.
As one of the agents said, I'll know it when I see it, and things will move swiftly from there.
