That kind of day

Would someone please explain to me how Aldi can be out of eggs?! I have to go to the other grocery store anyway, but the price of a dozen eggs is half again as much there.

That second trip will have to be after work tomorrow. The chain gang big boys playing with earthmovers road crew on the corner gained a burst of energy from the cooler weather, making with the grrrrowwwl of heavy equipment and the near constant beepbeepbeep of the back up horn all afternoon. Even if I were to brave the possibility of a dust-cloud induced asthma attack, my head hurts so much from the noise, it may split open if I move that much.

According to a neighbor who talked to the guys, they expect to be done in July. According to the clerk in the office at city hall, they expect it to be done in mid-September. Translation? The sewer work currently being done will be completed by July, after which the road will sit until September when it will finally be graded and paved. At least that is my guess.

So, I'm forced - forced I say - to stay indoors, put up my feet and stick another book in front of my face, preferably with a cold beverage close to hand. You see, the more of the stack of books I read, the more I can take to Half Price for resale, and the less I have to pack up and move when the time comes.

There is a method in my madness.
