A friend shared this blog post, a kind of hit-you-between-the-eyes reminder that not all is as we assume it is. A good reminder, too, in light of my experience yesterday and own frustrated reaction (er, I suppose you'd think I'm lying if I said that when I got home yesterday I thought about that rude clerk and took a minute to pray for her (which may have helped her but didn't really ease my frustration - my fault) but that is indeed what happened).
What we see is so often not what is really there; we can't honestly assess and react to a situation if we are going off of outward appearances and our own assumptions.
