Between the stupidity of some of our judges and the foot-dragging by the Secretary of State (who should have published the law, allowing it to go into effect, the instant Sumi's decision was voided several weeks ago) implementation has been delayed, but implemented it now is.
Was it worth it? Only time will tell.
While this was a big win for Governor Walker, the recently passed concealed carry law is a mixed blessing. As I understand it, the law leaves it up to individual businesses as to whether or not they will allow it in their establishments. The resulting patchwork may make it impossible for permit holders to actually carry.
Ironically, other than certain exemptions, it will not be possible to ban concealed carry from certain publicly owned grounds, including parks.
We'll have to wait to see what is next on the Governor's hit list.
