Will they, won't they

Walmart is seeking to build a fairly sizeable neighborhood market in my stomping grounds. The homeowners in the area are up in arms, more, I think, that it is Walmart than that the property is being developed.

The stupid comment in the linked article, however, is this:

A traffic study conducted by Gatlin, which would build the $10 million store and lease it to Walmart, says the impact on the neighborhood would be minimal. The city Department of Public Works agrees with that study's conclusion.

Plopping a Walmart down at the edge of a residential area will have minimal impact? The customer traffic may not be a bother, but what about the semis delivering the goods? That stretch of 70th Street is already a bit dicey when the workers from the office park across the street are leaving work; imagine the fun if they are trying to cross traffic to get to Walmart to pick up a gallon of milk before heading home.
