Done

The great budget repair bill war is over.  After stripping out the fiscal provisions that required a certain quorum, both assembly and senate passed the bill.  It still contains the provisions the unions Democrats are so incensed over regarding limitations on collective bargaining.  The governor is expected to sign it very soon.

Hopefully, the protesters will now go home (I'm talking to you, Jesse Jackson and Michael Moore) and life can get back to normal.  In the end, the police did have to drag out about one hundred protesters, in order to allow the lawmakers to get into the assembly room safely, but by and large, it was much less scary than it could have been, given the stakes for the unions and their penchant for less-than-peaceful tactics.

Besides, they more than likely will have other places to protest as more states seek to limit public union power...
