Our turn

It had to happen sooner or later; this is Wisconsin, after all.  The local (and national) weatherpeople are forecasting a snOMG! event for our area.  Word is we should receive about six or seven inches through the day today (more near the lake)(I work within the "lake effect" snow area), followed by an actual blizzard from Tuesday late afternoon through Wednesday sometime.  That storm could dump another foot (or maybe up to eighteen inches) on top of today's snow.

I knew our snowfall totals for this winter were low, but do we have to catch up all at once?

The shovel is currently in the car, just in case.  Our facilities group, however, absolutely rock at snow removal; even when they plow the lots while we are at work, they somehow never manage to plow us in.

Naturally, I still haven't done a real grocery shop this month.  I'm out of chicken breast and eggs.  The original plan was to go to the store after work tonight, but I decided to stop at Aldi yesterday afternoon instead. Yikes.  I've never seen the parking lot that full.  Knowing how small that store is, I sat in the car before going in the store to take stock of what I have at home.

In the end, I didn't go in.  There's plenty in the pantry and the frig, and it won't take more than a day or so for the city to dig out and things to get back to normal.

Or rather, normal, with four foot high snow drifts.

If you happen to live in the area and have a strapping teenage son who wants to make some money digging out my car, send him over.
