Not too bad for an invalid

Between the time I got up and 11 a.m. -

  • Went to move the car and pick up breakfast
  • Finished watching a movie while having breakfast and drinking that wonderful first cup of coffee of the day
  • Washed four five loads of laundry
  • Cut the remaining meat (over a quarter of the bird) off of a rotisserie chicken
  • Set the bones on to simmer for home made chicken broth
  • Took out the garbage
  • Messed around on a computer game
  • Read the paper
  • Picked up the bedroom

Not completely in that order, and there was more, but you get the picture. All the more remarkable in that I slept in this morning.  I did take a nap later, while the broth was simmering.  The soup is now done, and some eggplant/green pepper/zucchini tortellini is simmering to be added to tonight's bowlful. Another two loads of laundry are done (lots of "machine wash, cold, delicate cycle" and the such this week) and I'm about ready to call it quits for the night.  I may sort the mail while watching a movie after dinner, but that's about all I can handle right now.

Maybe I should stay home sick more often?

At least I've started the infamous "vacation list".  There are a number of fun things I'd like to do, preferably this week rather than next. It will actually reach thirty degrees on Monday - for the first time in quite a while - but of course, with a chance of snow.  That shouldn't stop me.

Lots of little craft things are on the agenda, assuming I can unbury the sewing desk.  I'm in a mood to clear off some projects that have been hanging out too long, overstaying their welcome, at least in their partially complete state.  Lots of books to read, too.

The timer just dinged for the soup - or maybe for the laundry, I'm not sure.  At any rate, something calls!
