Loose ends

The plan for today is to clean up and organize my office (see previous post about wanting to die with a clean house - it applies to offices as well); how much do you want to bet that my coworkers will come up with all sorts of "emergency" requests that they have been sitting on for at least a month?  A pox on them, preemptively.

Steamboat ride, city tour, dinner and jazz at Ellis Marsalis' club - all booked and ready to go.  This morning one of the national accounting firms e-mailed an invitation to a dinner during the conference - networking and a free dinner.  Yay.  Or something like that; I believe this will mean putting on pantyhose, which almost offsets the rest of it.

It was both freezing cold and pitch black when I left the house this morning, almost as if the weather wanted to make sure we understood it is now November, and there will be no more fooling around or indian summer. It is time for cider, warm clothes, home made soups and layered quilts.  Glad to be leaving it for a bit, though!
