I'm feeling a bit subpar, so I'm stealing a meme I've seen around that's a bit out of character for me.
Outside my window...the sun is sliding behind the building across the street, the sky still bright blue at the end of a perfect autumn day.
I am thinking...of pumpkin scented candles, crisp apples, warm soups and an upcoming brunch party. And of, quite possibly, combining all four of them.
I am thankful for...an excellent doctor visit (routine bloodwork check) and the insurance coverage to pay for it.
In the learning room...cryptic crosswords, regular crosswords, puzzles of all sorts to keep the mind sharp.
From the kitchen...Pork chops with bleu cheese and mixed vegetables for dinner - yum.
I am creating...a beribboned datebook to use for devotional notes for next year, with bright teal and lime green ribbon!
I am going...to Whole Foods for the first time early next week.
I am wearing...blue jeans and an a faded old red t-shirt with vaguely patriotic appliques. No shoes. Never any shoes, unless I'm forced to wear them.
I am reading...Crazy Love by Francis Chan; Dust by Martha Grimes.
I am hoping...the internet stays on long enough to post this (see next item)
I am hearing...my landlord pounding things in the basement, where I am fairly certain he knocked out my cable television and internet the several times this afternoon they went out...Time Warner is coming out tomorrow =^(
Around the house...slowly putting out the autumn decorations - stuffed fabric pumpkin, fall angel, leaf garland and fall scented candles.
One of my favorite things...a Pilot G-2 07 gel pen and my journal. Hmm, does that count as one or two?
A few plans for the rest of the week...vote tomorrow, deal with the cable guy, make plane reservations for New Orleans and Missouri, call a friend about delivering the Christmas tree they are taking off my hands.
A picture thought I'm sharing with you...
The previous occupant of this chair, a scarecrow, finally turned to dust over last winter. The wreath (securely wired to the chair, as was its predecessor) looks a bit too new at the moment, but a week out in the weather should take care of that.
