Company girls coffee 082710

Pull up a chair and pour a cup - Dunkin' Donuts coffee this morning, not from the restaurant but from the grocery store (er, bags of ground coffee, not take out cups - life can be confusing, you know?).

Wow, in just a week it will be Labor Day weekend.  The students at the university for which I work start classes this coming Monday; we are parked in alternate parking today so parents can drive up to our building (our office is attached to an 18 story dorm) and unload their children's lives.  Our new law school building will be dedicated in early September.  Not all the cranes will disappear from campus, though, as the new engineering building is still in progress.

Somehow, I managed to start four different books (really different - a novel, a book about NaNoWriMo, a nutrition book and a non-fiction work talking about how the medium we use to communicate changes the message we are sending (a sort of follow-up to Marshall McLuhan's The Medium is the Massage, but centered around the impact of using different mediums on churches and the spread of the gospel)). It would be great to finish at least one of them this weekend, as I've two more library books waiting in the wings.

The lure of school supplies is irresistible, in spite of the fact that I have no kids.  I do need a new office chair, but beyond that, I can't resist the allure of "a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils".  A cool three-ring binder and dividers are on my list as well, since I am starting to plan a condo purchase; I need one place to collect everything.

What is your favorite school supply?
