The good: I've just received the go-ahead to register for a three day seminar late this fall...in New Orleans. The conference runs Wednesday through Friday - I may be forced, forced I say, to extend my stay to Sunday in order to save the university on airfare (picking up the additional (and very reasonable) hotel costs myself, of course). Laissez les bons temps rouler!
The bad: It is a tax conference. A very helpful tax conference, based on prior experience, but a tax conference nonetheless. Bourbon Street + several hundred lawyers/cpas who have been cooped up all day discussing dry issues = the potential for a great deal of trouble.
