The week that was

Bits and pieces...
  • After a month of checking and verifying, arguing and agreeing, the auditors are finally ready to send the audit reports for FY08 to the printers.
  • The bond issue planned for next month is causing...issues. Due to the current economic climate, we find ourselves in the position of needing to have Moody's provide a rating; the amount of paperwork needed is staggering. It doesn't help that the AVP coordinating everything is one of the more challenging people to work with.
  • A thirty-nine year old co-worker died in her sleep Wednesday night, apparently of natural causes. I cannot imagine what her family is going through; please remember Evonie's family in your prayers, particularly her children.
  • A dear friend finally had her baby - the stubborn little girl decided to wait an extra week in the womb (maybe she wanted to miss the Dem's convention coverage?) and had to be coaxed out.
  • The Harley 105th anniversary festivities are at full throttle. Things seem to be under control so far; Milwaukee iron is expensive, and no one wants to destroy their bike by crashing while riding drunk. It's the idiots in the cars that are causing the problems.
  • I skipped the church picnic Sunday, knowing that if I spent several hours outside, no amount of allergy or asthma meds would keep me from having issues. What I didn't know was the jewelry party I was going to late that afternoon was also being held outside. I'm still not fully recovered.

Bright spot to end the week - the little boy behind me in line at Aldi tonight, clutching "his" package of fresh broccoli for dear life.
