Weak end

Forty minutes to go. Then I can go home and sleep. Including this week, this is the third week in a row where I have found myself utterly exhausted by Thursday morning, just waiting for the weekend. It doesn't seem to have one particular cause (although staying up later than usual several nights last week to watch Michael Phelps' Olympic endeavors didn't help), but a mix of things.

Ragweed season started in earnest. While I do take something year-round which eliminates ninety percent of the runny nose, weepy eyes and sneezing, I find that the tiredness that accompanies the allergy isn't alleviated by the drugs. I can't close the windows at home (suffocate due to heat), but if I leave them open (death by ragweed tiredness) I end up with the allergy linked lethargy.

I am actually considerably further ahead than usual for this time of year at work. While that should be a good thing, I've also had to follow up more than usual on people who just don't understand that certain things are in their job description, not mine. I will happily help you; don't expect me to actually do all of your work myself. That, along with the audit-related issues mean my brain is on overload when I get home at night. I dreamt the other night that I was pushing numbers around, knowing full well they would not balance, it was not my job to be doing and the person who should be doing it, wouldn't. Then again, maybe I was really awake and at work.

Beginning Monday and for the foreseeable future, I will be bussing it to work. They are at long last going to work on resurfacing our parking lot - the work that was to have been done in late May. While it's not that much of a hassle, it does mean I need to be out of the house by 6 a.m. sharp. The plan is to make lunches/breakfasts, pick out clothes and generally pack my work bag all the night before. While it doesn't take long to do all that in the morning - I'm pretty efficient - I'd much rather sleep the extra five or ten minutes.

So - the weekend will be one for organizing and laundry. At some point I should probably finalize the schedule for the six week Bible study I'm going to do this fall, and write up an announcement. I need to figure out a birthday present for a friend, as we are celebrating on Sept. 6th with a trip to a craft show, cake and presents. Let's just say I'm far, far behind on this, and really need ideas. She likes hand made things, but I've already done several quilts/throws/wallhangings/table runners for her. And I don't really have time to make something. And I hate shopping.

I think I'll nap until inspiration strikes.
