Someone please explain to me how I can do an entire cryptic crossword - in ink, no less - but still manage to lose my checkbook for an entire week? Although, since I didn't notice it was gone until Friday, I suppose it was only "lost" for four days
After searching the house, determining that it wasn't here, thinking I must have left it at the office, but not finding it there this morning, I finally located it inside the lovely basket that holds my stamps, car payment book and unpaid bills
Uh, yeah. Where it belongs when it isn't in my purse. The same place I'm sure I checked on Friday.
We won't mention my trying to look at my account on-line this morning, only to be stumped by the test question. They use three different questions which pop up every so often when you login. I have the questions (and answers) in a safe place at home. Is it my fault the stupid answer is case sensitive, and it's possible to enter "Kit Kat" in about five different ways (using a non-traditional spelling or punctuation is one way to keep data secure - even from yourself, apparently).
At least the puzzle was fun. There are a few write-overs, as I realized I may have put in a wrong answer, but for the most part, I breezed through. In this particular puzzle, you enter the answers in the grid in a circle around the corresponding number, always in a clockwise direction. Answers that go on the outside edges of the grid always start and end at the outer edge, but answers in the center may start in any of the spaces around the number. In a number of cases, I knew the answer, but couldn't put it in the grid until the adjacent clue was solved to provide the proper alignment.
The excited smiley face is just my way of immortalizing the fact that I did something right for a change.
