It began with an increase in the asthma symptoms, accompanied by a nagging sore throat. Now we're up to full-blown coughing, hacking, ear-clogging, sneezing misery.
I blame a co-worker. She insisted she had too much to do to stay home (probably true), that she was staying in her office as much as possible (also true) and that she wouldn't pass it along (liar, liar, pants on fire).
The only reason I'm up is that I have to make one phone call for work. Thankfully, I can make it anytime after 6:30. At that point, I fully intend to crawl back into bed and stay there for the foreseeable future. Of at least until lack of nourishment drives me to the store for some Mrs. Grass' chicken noodle soup mix, which is the ultimate panacea when I have a cold.
Sunday afternoon update: I am indeed in the land of the living, if just barely. I feel a bit like the possum I saw in the middle of the road on the way home from church: lying there, unable to tell if I'm living or dead. While I'm sure this will be cleared up by the end of the week, the process of "clearing" it is rather miserable.
The light bulb in the bedside lamp chose 6:43 a.m. today to burn out. That would be the bulb I took from the small lamp I keep in the closet, back in March when the first bulb in the bedside lamp burned out. It really isn't an issue with the lamp - it was just their respective times to go. With no spare bulbs in the house, I needed to pick some up. While Target is (usually) much cheaper than Pick n Save, I didn't have the energy to do both after church. Surprisingly, the bulbs were on sale at the grocery store, at a price lower than Target's usual sales. Too bad I can't say the rest of the groceries were on sale. Since when do $56 in groceries fit into four (small, and loaded lightly) plastic bags?
