Too bad it's inside the office.
The heat must have addled my brain over the weekend (no a/c at home and temps of 93, 95 and 97 degrees for the three weekend days, respectively). I expected the a/c at the office to actually be working. I've forgotten our longstanding tradition: the a/c in the office will not work if a) we have a heat wave of over 90 degree temperatures lasting more than two days (we are well into day four), and b) it is the busiest week and a half of the year and there is no way anyone can afford to just go home or someplace else cool.
The men in the little blue uniforms aren't sure if they can fix it, or if they need to call in a contractor. It will be sometime tomorrow afternoon at the earliest before things are fixed. The good news is that my office is on the north side of the building, out of any direct sun. The bad news is that even the marble window sill is warm to the touch.
If people would just stop breathing it would be less humid...Can sweat short out a computer keyboard?
