The good news: The high temperature here near the lake is only supposed to be in the mid- to upper-seventies today.
The bad news: It is easily ten degrees hotter in our building.
The good news: Our building has windows that open!
The bad news: They are pile driving for bridge piers less than 100 yards from those windows.
The solution: Open the windows, turn on the fans and take lots of tylenol. Answer the phone with "What?! What? I can't hear you!" and hang up, thereby avoiding unnecessary work. Wipe surfaces clean of construction dust periodically. Go to lunch at a place that serves alcoholic beverages in copious quantities. Go home after lunch, claiming raging headache due to combination of heat, construction noise, tylenol and alcohol.
I'll let you know how it goes.
