What a gorgeous morning! Clear, blue skies, a light breeze and a wonderful sunrise to start the last day of the traditional work week. This weekend is a foretaste of summer, with highs climbing from 74 today to 84 on Sunday...though dropping twenty degrees to mid-sixties for Monday (just in time for back to work!).
Progress on the bathroom painting project, of sorts. The Memorial Day sale at Sherwin-Williams starts Sunday.
Woo hoo! Last night I stopped in to pick up some paint chips (one that is similar to last week's Williamsburg blue, and one that is greener, leaning more towards teal). The plan is to buy the paint on Monday; having both limited time and just ten colors to chose from will help me make up my mind.
The clerk and I had an interesting conversation about women and paint colors. His experience is that women come to the store in groups, pour over the paint colors for long periods of time, then ask for a shade that is "a little darker than that one, but sort of between these two". My own style is more "Eh, it's paint - if I really don't like it I can paint over it cheaply and quickly." Note that I've done exactly that, too.
This attitude may change when it is time to have the livingroom/loft painted. It is a scaffold job, so I need to hire someone to do it. Choosing the right color the first time is vital for that project.
Meantime, though, what is your attitude toward painting? Do you love it, hate it? Do you spend hours agonizing over colors, or are you bold and like to experiment? Have you done anything special - rag roll, feather dust, sponge paint or use a texturizer?

I love to paint! Happy painting! :)
My attitude towards painting is just like yours, my husband however only wants to do it once. We've actually only painted one room in our house, because the rest of it had been painted prior to our move-in. The kitchen though still had some ugly wallpaper up, so I got rid of it as quickly as I could! Good luck with the painting!
I only want to do it once! However, I do not shop in herds :)
I've never actually had to choose paint color before but I think I would take forever to choose and however it ends up will be how I leave it. :p The first thing we'll paint will have to be the hallway bathroom. The previous owner didn't do a good job with the paint in general, but I think because of the steam in the bathroom, it's just especially bad in the corners. Love a good painting party. :) Have fun with it.
I'm an agonizer!I pour over paint colours and worry that I've chosen te right one! But, I've never gone with a group of friends...heaven's we'd never choose!
Happy painting, and have a great weekend!
I love to paint indoors, even volunteering to help friends who mention the word "paint."
I'm not very bold with colors!
