Wherein a childless woman gives advice to parents

I'm not often in the habit of reading young people's fiction, but one of my favorite actresses has written an engaging, highly entertaining series of novels for the young teen crowd centered around Pandora.

Yes, that Pandora.

Check out Carolyn Hennesy's series - Pandora Gets Jealous is the first. Pandy is a curious, intelligent, sassy thirteen year old who desperately needs a top notch item for a school project. Just in time, she rediscovers the box her father has been charged by Zeus with protecting. Things don't go quite the way she expected, however, and she ends up in the biggest trouble of her short life.

Between Thursday night and Saturday morning I blew through the first two books, and I may or may not have just downloaded the third a minute ago...

Really - since reading tastes vary so much, I rarely recommend books. But if you have a preteen or early teen hanging around your house (or if you yourself want to read some fun books), run over to Amazon or out to your local bookstore and pick up the first book - you won't regret it.
