Two steps forward, one step back

Subtitle: The further I go, the behinder I get

The plan was to finish unpacking the dining room (all of three boxes, one of which may be carried, unopened, upstairs) and begin work on the sewing room over the long weekend. How many boxes were unpacked? Zero.

How many have been unpacked in the two evenings since the weekend? Negative four.

Yes, thanks to my prediliction for on-line shopping, I managed to bring more boxes into the condo than were broken down and disposed of during the last two days. Although I did break down the boxes the merchandise came packed in, so I suppose it is a net of zero.

Profligate spending is not usually one of my vices; this whole moving thing, though, has encouraged replacement of things that have seen better days. Replacing the twenty-year old 27" tube television, for instance, meant also securing a new antenna and a sturdier stand than my old magazine table.

On the plus side, I can now state with authority that I am an expert with a box cutter.

In the actually-used-to-cut-boxes, utterly non-terrorist way, of course.
