Company Girl Coffee 072111

Good morning, all! I'm a bit late to the party this morning. I took the day off, then had to run to sign the offer to purchase on a condo.

Yes, I've put an official offer to purchase on this place. The paperwork says they need to respond by five p.m. on Monday; it's going to be a long weekend.

Truthfully, I'm exhausted and would love to simply curl up in bed and sleep the weekend away. The tiredness is as much emotional as physical, but the whole oh-my-gosh-I'm-going-to-be-a-homeowner-yikes-a-thirty-year-mortgage! feelings are the very least of it. I've never handled heat well, and earlier this week finally decided to spend two nights in an air conditioned motel. The upshot of the call to my landlord to tell him I wouldn't be around for a couple of days is that, after twenty years, he is finally having a/c installed in my flat - next Wednesday.

You can't claim God doesn't have a decent sense of humor.

Now that the big decision has been made, assuming that the offer or counter(s) do end in a successful purchase, all the little decisions need to be made.  Clearing out the flat - what gets moved? What goes to Goodwill? Where should my furniture be placed in the new home? It's two levels, and I won't be able to move much of it from level to level alone should I change my mind later. Is there any painting I'd like done in the new place between closing and move in? The master bedroom is peach, which goes with neither my current quilt/decor nor either of the two quilts I'm in the process of making for me. Ditto for both bathrooms. Though they don't need much paint, they are awkward to do.

Where am I going to put the Christmas tree?

Ack. Starting a few lists should help calm the neurotic border collie on crack state of my mind. Any suggestions you have on making the moving process easier, the things that are commonly forgotten, what color to paint the bathrooms/bedrooms or anything else, please comment!

I have a feeling I'll need all the help I can get.
