While there are a myriad of things involved in moving, I've yet to actually make out a list of what needs to be done and when. It's a bit like working without a net, but things are starting to come together.
This morning I happened to need to call the area that handles our home internet benefit for something totally unrelated, and got the scoop on both transferring service when the time comes and setting up wireless. Check that off the non-list.
Monday afternoon I'm off to see the second mortgage banker. I've heard good things from several people about them, and their rates may be a tad lower than my own bank. It will be nice to play one off the other. Check another thing off.
After work I need to go to the hardware store; while I'm there, I'll pick up a more sturdy packing tape dispenser than the one I have, along with extra tape. There are enough boxes stacked in my bedroom to let me get a good start on packing up the books. There are a lot of books...two built-in bookcases, a four foot wide/tall freestanding case, two lamps with bookcase bases and at least two foot-high stacks of miscellaneous books. Some will go to the resale shop, not so much for the cash but for the sake of lightening the eventual moving load.
How much of this actually gets done this weekend, we'll see.
Maybe I'll just sit down and finally make out the list.
