Good morning! Hot coffee and cinnamon melts on the buffet, help yourself.
How is it that some weeks seem longer than others? I was convinced Wednesday night that the next morning was Saturday - good thing I remembered in time to make it to my pre-work Bible study! It is such a joy to meet with sweet, godly women - in a public restaurant no less - to study the Word before the day begins.
Little by little, the borders on the quilt are accumulating. These inner borders are 88.5 inches each. Then there is a pieced border, and a final set of 99.5 inch borders...lots and lots and lots of pinning, as the borders will help to square up the quilt. I'm hoping to get most of them on this weekend/next week, as the batting and backing have arrived and I'm anxious to layer it.
A young friend stopped in last Saturday afternoon for a quick lesson in putting on a "real" binding. She's made four or five quilts, but has pillowcased all of them to avoid binding. Her current project is a very cute coffee quilt for her mom for Christmas (um, last Christmas - but Hey! she should have it done by Easter! (this makes her a real quilter - always a bit behind)).
Tonight, however, it is off to play cards with fellow crazy women. I've never played canasta, but from what I've read (yes, I'll admit I looked up the rules and some strategy on-line) it is similar to rummy and not too complicated except for scoring. I'm expecting to do much laughing.
I know some of you are getting wholloped by snow right now, but I'd like to offer some hope. This is a comparison of the day of our Great Blizzard of 2011 and the same place ten days later. Nothing lasts forever (well, except for God and the eternal life we have in Him!).
As usual, this is linked up with Rachel Anne's Company Girls Coffee. Visit some of the other blogs - these are some fantastic women!
