Quiet time files 010811

For I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the last he will stand upon the earth.  And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another.  My heart faints within me!
Job 19:25 -27

What an incredible hope - to see my Redeemer standing on the earth, see Him with my own eyes.  There is great comfort in looking forward to the day when we stand on the new earth, where the kingdom of God will reign forever.

This passage is familiar, of course, as it is the basis for one of the soprano pieces in Handel's Messiah. The performance below is Elizabeth Parcells; the video shows the score moving forward with the music, complete with performers' notes.  Enjoy.
