Back to the salt mines

Back to work after two weeks off.  The new carpet - installed while the University was closed 12/23 - 1/2 - looks very nice.  The dust kicked up during the process then resettled on every available surface; I got to work at 6:30 and it took until now to wipe (almost) everything down and reconnect the computer.

Burly men are coming to the office at 8:15 to move anything the carpet installers didn't quite put back where it belonged; I can't really set up my desk until they do their thing, as I need the entire L-shaped unit moved one inch to the right (just enough to drop the power strip to the floor behind it, so the snake's nest of cords is not running across the desk).

Once that is done, I can start repopulating the surface of the desk.  Note that the first thing I unpacked this morning was my coffee cup...and I've already raided my coworker's stash of Dove dark chocolate squares.  This is going to be a long, and most likely minimally productive day.

Welcome to 2011!
