Three little girls, two pair of huge blue eyes, one pair of almost-green. Too adorable for words.
Friends blessed me with their presence for dinner, bringing their two year old and almost year old twins. What little charmers they are! Oldest is a chatterbox, constantly in motion, narrating every action. The littles are at that almost walking stage, where they crawl so fast they can disappear in a wink.
Fortunately, they found a favorite hideaway under the dining room table.
Joy said the kids would eat anything...in a fit of insanity, I decided to make jambalaya - from a new recipe, whose spiciness I underestimated by a factor of five. After initially exclaiming, "I don't like it!", oldest declared it yummy, while one of the twins ended up trying to take double handfuls from Daddy's plate. Recipe from here, by the way.
It's quiet in the house now, but this was a very pointed reminder to pray for friends who have small children, for patience, wise decision making, for opportunities to have time alone or away to recharge, for grace in dealing with all the day-to-day details and the curveballs God allows in their lives. Time to put the quiet to use, doing just that.
