Company Girl Coffee 102210

Friday?  Friday!  Just in time, too.  It's not so much that it has been a busy week (it hasn't) as it has just seemed never-ending.

Just over a week until Diane's Grand Adventure.  My friend Pam is scouting out fun things to do in her new town in Missouri, and I've been narrowing down my choices for my (rather limited) free time in the Big Easy.  A steamboat Mississippi river dinner/jazz cruise is first on the agenda, preceded by some wandering in the French Market.

On the work plan for this weekend is a sample pack.  Everything for ten days is going in a carry on and a computer tote.  It's been a while since I've done this, and while I have my own style (pack light - it's not as if I'm going to outer Mongolia; there are stores everywhere happy to sell to you if you forget something crucial), I'm open to anyone's suggestions/stories on how they pack for a trip, particularly one that is part business conference mixed with sightseeing, and part visit with a friend.

To that end:
  1. What is the most useful thing you take with you when traveling?
  2. What is the most useless thing you've ever taken along on a trip?
  3. Cramming it all in - do you pack folded, rolled or bundled?
  4. Given the teeny size of a quart zip lock (and the fact I must take contact solution and rewetting drops), what are the most vital liquids and gels you take with you?
Let me know in the comments!
