Company Girl Coffee 042310
Hello, ladies, come in, pull up a chair and pour a cup. The coffee is strong today; this week has been a bit of a trial and I need the fortification.
What's gone on this week? A co-worker passed away, my best friend finally received confirmation she will indeed be moving to Missouri in August (staying possibly as long as three years), I've had worrisome car issues, working too many hours in a stressful environment...
But God is faithful, and He promises to walk with us through all this mucky stuff. He can certainly turn everything around for us with a word, and if not (stolen from Marie - I absolutely love this reference, the Bible account that it comes from AND the story from WW II (and am totally stealing this for a future project I have in mind)...it doesn't change my love for Him. He'll get me through.
Assuming the car issues are resolved, this weekend is almost non-stop fun stuff. A game night, coffee with a friend, a craft day with another. The handprint quilt was delivered to the momma-to-be, who was so excited she delivered her little girl two days later - a week or so early! That project really fit in with Rachel Anne's Small Thing for today - it was something I could focus on, and do start to finish.
For tomorrow's craft day, I may take along a quilt kit I bought a bit ago, to cut the pieces. In another "God's hand was surely in this" moment, the on-line shop actually had a queen size quilt kit (they've never done that before) in colors I liked...and I didn't see it until it was already in the closeout section of the website, priced at $35.90 for the pattern plus fabric for the top and binding. If you quilt, you'll realize what a bargain this was - nine yards of high quality cotton, at about $4 per yard. They offer free shipping on orders over $50, so I added a few packages of much needed sewing machine needles to the kit; nothing like a bargain!
Of course, I don't have a queen size bed, but it's in the plan for sometime in the next couple of years. Do you think the quilt will be finished by then?
