A quiet sort of day

A cranberry-pomegranate candle burns on the stove. A french baguette sits on the nearby counter, the basis for a lunch of sliced tomato and grilled bread topped with lemon-flavored goat cheese...and maybe a glass of wine. Just one glass though, as I've a quilt to finish putting together for a friend.

Michelle dropped off the handprint squares and backing for the baby quilt for her son's kindergarten teacher yesterday. Such sweet prints; some, light and tentative, clear enough to use the palm print for identification purposes. Others dark, almost solid as the child pressed down firmly, wanting to leave a clear mark. By Sunday night the quilt needs to be assembled, layered and the binding attached, though not sewn down. The parents will do the rest.

At the moment, I'm reloading another shelf of cds into iTunes - casualties of the great hard drive failure. It's slow work, mostly because the cds are here, there and everywhere...car, shelves, next to the cd player. It may have been easier to round things up first, as they now need to stay where they are until they are reimported.

The plan for dinner tonight is a dish from the Pioneer Woman's site - chicken curry. Provided, of course, that I remember to start the marinating before I'm starving for dinner...I may need to set an alarm.

I'd better get to it...lots of sewing to do.
